Nawabi Chicken Curry Recipe: A Royal Feast of Spices and Flavor!

Nawabi Chicken Curry is a regal and flavorsome dish that brings together a rich blend of spices, tender chicken, and a luxurious cashew-based gravy. INGREDIENTS:

  • Chicken - 500 g
  • Cashew nuts - 10 no.
  • Fried onion - 2 medium
  • Dessicated coconut - 1 tablespoon
  • Green cardamom - 3 no.
  • Milk - 65ml
  • Curd - 25g
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilli - 3 no, slit
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • water - 150ml
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 4 tablespoons
 



DIRECTIONS:

1. Prepare Cashew Paste:
  • In a blender, combine cashew nuts, desiccated coconut, green cardamom, and milk.
  • Blend into a fine paste and transfer it to a bowl.

 
2. Grind Fried Onions:
  • In the same blender, grind the fried onions into a fine paste.
3. Marinate the Chicken:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine chicken, cashew paste, fried onion paste, curd, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste, salt, lemon juice, and oil.
  • Mix thoroughly and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
4. Cooking:
  • Heat a thick-bottomed pan on low flame and add the marinated chicken.
  • Add water, mix well, and cover. Cook for 5 minutes on high flame.
  • Reduce the flame to low, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender and flavors have infused.
5. Final Touch:
  • Add slit green chilies and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and cover cook for an additional 2 minutes.
6. Serve:
  • Serve hot, garnished with extra coriander leaves if desired.
